Google is not going to use its technology to create weapons






Google responded to a letter signed by more than 4,000 employees of the same company, in which they denounce the possible use of their artificial technology to improve the developing weapons of the American government. Some workers will even submit their resignation if they go on this.






Following this claim, Google affirmed that its intelligence artificial technology would not be used to create weapons or surveillance systems that could involve the breakdown of human rights. Although they will continue working with the American government in different unrelated tasks.

It is to emphasize that Google admitted this year that it will not renew its contract with the pentagon that has an expiration date for next year.

All this comes from the supposed Maven Project that Google would be working in the company of the Pentagon to improve the American defenses. But at the same time they affirmed that Google would not continue with the project and they would end the contract established with them to not renew it again. The contract would be ending in March 2019.






On the other hand, Sundar Pichai, current CEO of the company declared that artificial intelligence must be socially beneficial and not used to create systems or weapons against society.

Sundar Pinchai, also emphasize that the company will not contribute to artificial intelligence helping to collect information in a way that violates international rights imposed along with human rights. However, the CEO concluded that the company will continue to collaborate with the government on cybersecurity projects, recruitment and training.
